"Jay is awesome. I don’t leave my house much for things other than essentials (urgent doctors appointments/ testing) so leaving the house for anything else is BIG. Diverse Haus (including Christmas party) is one of the only things I try to come to that is primarily because of the environment Jay facilitates and the community that’s been cultivated. Feeling like you’re with “your people” is an incredible feeling."
"Christmas can be a hard time for many neuroqueer folks. It was special to take time out of socialising and family commitments and to make space to get into a flow zone through creativity, crafting and collage. I felt the group co-regulated during the session and I left feeling more relaxed, supported and connected to my community."
"Safe, inclusive, accessible +++ fun environment with other queer folks"
"Our Support Unit First Nations students had an incredible opportunity to take part in Art Therapy sessions facilitated by our external provider. Over the course of three one-hour sessions, students were guided through a creative project: designing and building a shelter for an imaginary pet.
Imagination took centre stage, with each child producing a unique and thoughtful creation. It was inspiring to see potential future artists and sculptors emerge throughout the process.
A big thank you to Jay Wood, the talented facilitator, who connected beautifully with our students and supported them at their individual points of need."
"We have been so fortunate to have trans-owned DAT offer their free and accessible art activation at our biannual queer and trans local market. DAT's involvement has been invaluable, offering a sensory friendly, all ages safe and inclusive space to foster community connection, celebrate queer and trans joy, and support self-expression through creativity."
